I always love the calm feeling of walking into a home with a new newborn. There is this energy,. this "we did it" feeling, this "our entire world is right here in this room" feeling. It's almost unexplainable. I try to not disrupt this calm energy when I come in for photos. I find my light, observe parents as they ooh and ahh over this new love of their life. I will lightly suggest different ways to hold baby or to move a step this way or that way in order to get the best light but mostly I just observe and capture. For baby Arthur at home in Seattle with his parents, the feeling was cozy and safe. I shot this session on a mix of Fuji 400h and Ilford Delta 3200 film.
